Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative UX/CX Designer to join our team. This role focuses on creating user-centered designs for public-sector, customer-facing applications and portals. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creativity, technical understanding, and user-focused methodologies to design seamless and accessible digital experiences.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. User Research & Personas:
  2. Conduct comprehensive user research to understand behaviors, needs, and pain points.
  3. Develop detailed user personas to guide the design process and ensure alignment with target audiences.
  4. Story Mapping & Journey Design:
  5. Create user story maps and customer journey maps to visualize and improve end-to-end experiences.
  6. Identify pain points and opportunities for enhancements across all user touchpoints.
  7. Wireframing & Prototyping:
  8. Develop wireframes and interactive prototypes to demonstrate design concepts and workflows.
  9. Collaborate with stakeholders to refine designs based on iterative feedback.
  10. Design Thinking & Principles:
  11. Facilitate workshops to brainstorm solutions and apply design thinking methodologies.
  12. Ensure designs adhere to industry best practices and core design principles, with a focus on usability and aesthetics.
  13. 508 Compliance & Accessibility:
  14. Design interfaces that meet Section 508 compliance standards and ensure accessibility for all users.
  15. Collaborate with accessibility experts to test and refine designs to meet legal and ethical standards.
  16. Software Collaboration & Development Understanding:
  17. Work closely with developers to ensure designs are feasible and align with technical constraints.
  18. Maintain clear communication and provide design assets, specifications, and guidance during implementation.
  19. Focus on Public-Sector Applications:
  20. Design intuitive and functional solutions for government portals and customer-facing applications.
  21. Prioritize user satisfaction and efficiency in highly visible public-sector platforms.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in UX/CX design, preferably with public-sector projects or customer-facing applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in story mapping, wireframing, prototyping, user personas, and user research.
  • Technical Competence:
  • Proficiency in tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Miro, Axure, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Accessibility Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of 508 compliance standards and WCAG guidelines.
  • Experience designing inclusive solutions for diverse user groups.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and justify design decisions.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Designing government or public-sector applications.
    • Familiarity with large-scale, customer-facing portals or systems.
    • Experience implementing and testing accessible designs for diverse audiences.
