Data Warehouse Administrator w/ Snowflake

Job description

We are looking for an onshore Snowflake resource with the skillsets outlined below. Would like to go live with this person by end of February. Would need the flexibility to terminate with 30 days’ notice but willing to sign a 1 year term. Also, would like the option of being able to potentially hire this person and would need to understand costs/limitations. The resources down-selected would require an interview before engaging.

LOCATION: Charlotte, NC or Syracuse, NY Hybrid

Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and principles.
* 5+ experience in Snowflake administration, including user management, warehouse management, and data loading techniques.
* Proficiency in SQL and experience writing complex queries for data manipulation and analysis.
* Knowledge of data integration tools and techniques to connect Snowflake with various data sources.
* Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration with Snowflake.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address technical challenges.
* Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Project Background: The position supports a new project tied to Equitable’s partnership with LPL.The current batch-processing-based data transfer system will be replaced due to LPL’s technology stack upgrade. EQH is required to align its technology stack with LPL’s new system as part of the new contract to maintain business continuity

Primary Responsibilities: Collaborate with LPL partners to ensure data security and accurate data transfer processes.Work with the project team to define and manage user roles.Coordinate with business stakeholders to ensure access and data availability align with operational needs.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • System Administration:
  • Oversee Snowflake platform setup and configuration for the upgraded data stack.
  • Monitor data pipelines and transfers for accuracy and security.
  • Collaboration:
  • Partner with LPL teams to integrate data platforms and validate security protocols.
  • Act as a liaison between the project team and business stakeholders for access provisioning and role definition.
  • Project Execution:
  • Support technology stack upgrades by aligning Snowflake configurations with the new system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data transfer and security.

Team Structure

    • The resource will report directly to the project lead/manager.
    • Collaborate with LPL technical teams, the internal project team, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless integration.
