Job Title: Chemist

Location: Berkeley, CA

Duration: 12 months with Possibility of Extension.

Pay range : $30-32/hr

Responsible for biological and chemical evaluation of final product, intermediate products, raw materials, and production facilities.

Duties include performing QC assays, writing and establishing specifications, assisting in the validation of QC assays, and writing Standard Operating Procedures.

Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. 4-6 Years of Experience

Response: A typical day for this role is to perform Chemistry tests (HPLC, Uniformity, Particle counting to name a few), analyze data, and review processes to prevent defects, reduce costs, and ensure consistency across product lines. The role also includes ensuring lab inspection readiness and routine maintenance.
It’s a QC role in Chemistry group that has a good mix of lab work (testing, data review) and lab maintenance responsibilities.
HPLC experience, Chemistry lab experience, Team work mindset, Flexibility, Detail oriented
Currently this is a contract role for a year, which has a potential to be permanent role. However, it depends on multiple factors such as employees performance and business needs.
Pharmaceutical industry or academic HPLC experience.
