Platform Engineer
Job description
Job Summary:
Dexian is seeking a Platform Engineer for an opportunity with a client located in Charlotte, Jersey City, or Atlanta.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance the infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to the development process
- Collaborate with developers to diagnose and fix bugs efficiently
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of MS SQL and MySQL databases to optimize performance and solve database-related issues
- Address performance bottlenecks in applications and infrastructure, implementing solutions to enhance overall performance
- Work on tuning applications to scale from 100 users to 1000 users and beyond, ensuring robust performance
- Utilize tools like Dynatrace and Splunk for performance monitoring and analysis
- Assist in scaling enterprise shared services to a global level using AWS infrastructure
Requirements:
- Around 7 years of experience in a technical role, with a focus on Java applications and infrastructure
- Extensive experience with Java applications and codebase, particularly for performance tuning
- Proficient in database management and optimization techniques for MS SQL and MySQL
- Strong understanding of infrastructure management and performance tuning
- Experience with scaling applications from 100 to 1000 users
- Familiarity with tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk
- Proven track record of solving complex technical issues
- Ability to diagnose and fix bugs efficiently
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers and other stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud services
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
