UX Accessibility Designer
Job description
Role: UX Accessibility Designer
Location: On-site requirement: 3 days per week (locations: Kennesaw, Richmond, or Chicago).
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Position Overview:
We are looking for a talented UX Accessibility Designer to join our team and drive the design of accessible digital experiences. The successful candidate will have experience in creating inclusive designs, implementing accessibility best practices, and contributing to a collaborative development environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design accessible user experiences for web and mobile applications, adhering to WCAG 2.1 standards.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma and Sketch.
- Maintain and update legacy designs, ensuring compliance with modern accessibility standards.
- Present designs and findings to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Assess and improve the accessibility of existing applications through thorough reviews and updates.
- Build and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency and accessibility.
Required Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in UX design, with a focus on accessibility.
- Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, and modern design tools.
- Deep understanding of WCAG 2.1, accessibility standards, and ARIA roles.
- Familiarity with HTML and the ability to analyze basic code for accessibility improvements.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a modern, user-centered design process, including accessibility-focused projects.
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence is a plus.
