Operations Coordinator (GIS)

Contract (4 Days Onsite, 1 Day remote)
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of field crews, coordinating work orders, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing schedules, monitoring job progress, and facilitating communication between various departments to maintain efficient and reliable utility service delivery across the Client’s service area; often involving tasks like data analysis, report generation, and supporting emergency response operations.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Work Order Management:
Processing and assigning work orders to field crews, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion of tasks. - Scheduling and Dispatching:
Coordinating crew schedules based on workload, priorities, and geographic locations. - Compliance Oversight:
Monitoring adherence to safety regulations, permitting requirements, and operational standards. - Data Analysis and Reporting:
Generating reports on operational metrics, identifying trends, and providing insights to management. - Emergency Response:
Supporting emergency operations during storms or outages, coordinating crew response and resource allocation. - Customer Service Interaction:
Addressing customer concerns related to service disruptions, scheduling appointments, and providing information. - Communication and Collaboration:
Acting as a liaison between field crews, dispatchers, customer service, and other internal departments. - Training and Development:
Providing support and training to field personnel on new procedures and safety protocols. - System Monitoring:
Utilizing GIS and SCADA systems to monitor network performance and identify potential issues.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Strong understanding of utility operations, including electrical distribution and gas infrastructure.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience with scheduling and dispatching systems
- Geographical knowledge of the Client’s service area
- Proficiency with GIS and SCADA systems
