Manufacturing Operator
Location : Irvine, CA
Duration : 3 to 6 months (Temp to perm)
Pay range : $20-25/hr
You will assemble tiny components, use tools to measure them, and operate and maintain machines. You’ll follow strict safety and quality guidelines since the parts may be used in medical devices.
- Use hand tools, torque drivers, gauges, and power tools to assemble mechanical sub-assemblies, modules, or complete units according to engineering drawings and written work instructions.
- Perform fitting, alignment, and functional checks; make adjustments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Install hardware such as bearings, bushings, seals, heli-coils, and threaded inserts.
- Read and interpret assembly prints, bill of materials (BOMs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct in-process inspections; document results in travellers or the ERP/MES system.
- Troubleshoot minor issues and collaborate with Engineering or Quality to resolve non-conformances.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, follow 5S principles, and adhere to all safety guidelines. Familiarity with automated machinery, discreet assembly, or robotics
- Skills in mechanical troubleshooting or process improvement
- Proficiency using tools like micrometers, calipers, HMIs
- Knowledge of GMP, quality control, or inventory systems
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 1-2+ years assembling mechanical or electro-mechanical products in a manufacturing environment (medical device, aerospace, automotive, or similar preferred).
- Skills: Ability to read mechanical drawings/blueprints; familiar with GD&T symbols; comfortable using calipers, micrometers, and torque equipment.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or Associate’s in Mechanical Technology a plus.
