AWS Data Engineer (on W2)
Job description
Title: Data Engineer – AWS (On W2)
Duration: Contract to Hire role
Locations: Fort Mill, SC/ New York City, NY/ Austin, TX
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on designing and implementing cloud-native data solutions.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and Pyspark.
- Develop and manage APIs using .NET to expose account data.
- Perform data modeling and ETL using AWS Glue.
- Implement real-time data streaming solutions with Kafka.
- Contribute to the transition from legacy systems to AWS cloud.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data solutions.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers (senior roles only).
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in cloud-native development, preferably on AWS.
- Strong programming skills in Python (including PySpark) and .NET.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, and Kafka.
- Background in data engineering, data modeling, and ETL pipeline design.
- Experience developing and exposing APIs using .NET.
- Knowledge of real-time data streaming using Kafka.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with data consolidation and account management systems.
- Prior experience in the financial services industry.
