Brand Strategy and Visual Identity Support

Primary focus: Create a distinctive STEP 2.0 brand that is dynamic, recognizable, and adaptable while remaining within WBG design guidelines and aligned to related institutional design families.

  • Define the STEP 2.0 visual identity, including logo concepts, color treatments, graphic motifs, and design patterns.
  • Establish a clear brand system that can flex across executive materials, training content, newsletters, web spaces, videos, and stakeholder-facing updates.

Key competencies: Brand development, visual identity design, institutional design alignment, creative direction, accessibility-aware design, and the ability to translate a major transformation into a cohesive and recognizable design system.

  • Create reusable graphics for communications, newsletters, training materials, engagement campaigns, and stakeholder updates.
  • Design background images, patterns, icons, infographics, callout graphics, and other visual components that reinforce the STEP 2.0 brand.
  • Translate technical, process, and adoption messages into clear, accessible visual assets.
  • Support rapid-turn design needs while keeping materials consistent, polished, and aligned to the approved brand direction.

Key competencies: Layout design, iconography, infographic design, visual simplification, accessibility-aware design, brand application, production design, and the ability to create polished assets quickly across multiple channels.

Slide Design and Executive Briefing Support

Primary focus: Translate the STEP 2.0 brand vision into practical slide decks and executive-ready visuals that are easy for the team to use, modify, and repurpose.

  • Create branded PowerPoint templates for leadership briefings, working sessions, training materials, adoption updates, and governance forums.
  • Develop reusable slide layouts, visual systems, icons, callout styles, timelines, dashboards, and status views.
  • Turn rough ideas, discussion points, and complex concepts into clear graphic representations for executive briefs, workshops, and demonstrations.
  • Ensure slide templates are easy for non-designers to update without breaking the visual structure.
  • Support fast-turn executive materials where clarity, polish, and message discipline are critical.

Key competencies: Presentation design, executive storytelling, information hierarchy, visual simplification, template design, dashboard and timeline design, brand consistency, and the ability to make complex program information clear at a glance.

Web Design and Digital Hub Support

Primary focus: Translate the STEP 2.0 brand into a visually appealing digital space that can serve as a central hub for training, updates, videos, FAQs, and input from global teams.

  • Design a branded web or intranet experience that organizes STEP 2.0 materials in a clear, intuitive, and visually engaging way.
  • Create page layouts for training links, release updates, video libraries, FAQs, user support resources, and feedback channels.
  • Ensure the space supports global engagement, including easy navigation for different audiences and regions.
  • Design mechanisms to solicit input, questions, and feedback from global teams.
  • Maintain alignment with WBG digital standards, accessibility expectations, and internal platform requirements.
  • Platforms include Connect4impact, Viva Engage.

Key competencies: Web or intranet design, user experience design, information architecture, accessibility, digital content organization, stakeholder-centered navigation, feedback channel design, and the ability to create a branded online experience within enterprise platform constraints.

Video and Motion Design Support

Primary focus: Create short, attention-grabbing video and motion assets that introduce STEP 2.0, generate excitement for upcoming releases, evangelize team progress, and encourage adoption across global audiences.

  • Produce brief promotional videos using stock video, stock imagery, animation, and branded motion graphics.
  • Create launch teasers, release announcements, progress updates, adoption nudges, and short explainer videos.
  • Support multilingual voice-overs, captions, subtitles, and accessible video formats for global audiences.
  • Develop a repeatable video style that aligns with the STEP 2.0 brand and can be reused across the lifecycle of the program.
  • Translate technical or process-heavy updates into engaging, easy-to-understand visual stories.

Key competencies: Video editing, motion graphics, script-to-screen production, storyboarding, stock asset selection, voice-over coordination, captioning, accessibility, multilingual production support, and digital storytelling for change adoption.

Cross-Role Capabilities Needed

  • Ability to work within WBG design, accessibility, and communications standards while creating a distinct STEP 2.0 identity.
  • Strong judgment in translating complex system, process, and adoption messages into simple visual formats.
  • Comfort working with fast-moving project teams, executive stakeholders, and evolving content.
  • Ability to create reusable assets, templates, and design systems that the broader team can maintain over time.
  • Understanding of change management and adoption communications, including how design can build awareness, excitement, confidence, and sustained engagement.
