Primary Purpose
The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for developing business requirements that guide the design and implementation of software and processes for both internal users and external customers. This role involves acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. The Senior Business Analyst will manage complex, high-profile projects, providing leadership and driving interdisciplinary collaboration throughout the solution development lifecycle. This position is essential for delivering integrated business and information solutions that align with stakeholder needs.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Business Requirements Management and Solution Development:

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of operational processes, goals, and systems. Identify how these elements integrate to address business needs.
  • Seek opportunities to achieve project goals efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and document requirements for software and process changes, focusing on medium to high complexity projects and functional areas.
  • Conduct user interviews, surveys, workflow reviews, and industry research to document current (As-Is) and future (To-Be) states, including processes, models, use cases, plans, and flow diagrams.
  • Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, resolve conflicts, and decompose high-level information into detailed requirements while understanding underlying needs.
  • Utilize data analysis skills and experience with enterprise tools such as Informatica, Ataccama, Collibra, Delphix, and other metadata management tools.
  • Demonstrate expertise in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, and data governance practices, including data lifecycle management, data privacy, and data analytics.
  • Define data retention strategies and drive data governance initiatives to maximize business value.
  • Challenge business assumptions, identify improvements in system and process efficiency, and enhance customer service and data accuracy.
  • Act as a change agent to ensure new systems and processes align with business needs and project goals.

Project Management and Coordination:

  • Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications and addressing any questions or clarifications.
  • Develop and maintain a master test plan with the Quality Engineering (QE) team, ensuring requirements traceability throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Oversee project organization, including task lists, schedules, and budgets, from inception to execution.
  • Collaborate with vendors to scope and estimate initiatives, ensuring objectives are met within cost, scope, and timeline constraints.

Support Activities:

  • Follow established processes for support requests, including documentation, categorization, status management, and resolution.
  • Write and maintain documentation related to data governance workflows, standards, guidelines, and corporate policies.
  • Ensure support response and resolution times meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and maintain high levels of customer service.
  • Propose improvements to support services for better efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Act as the primary contact for Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Data Stewards concerning enterprise data governance, data privacy, and data quality.

Communication:

  • Facilitate cross-functional team meetings efficiently and effectively.
  • Work with Project/Program Managers to ensure proper execution of project communications, document reviews, and approvals.
  • Incorporate feedback from business owners into requirements, process flow diagrams, and use cases.
  • Tailor communication materials to the intended audience to ensure accurate and complete feedback.
  • Resolve and escalate issues in a timely manner and manage vendor relationships to ensure effective communication between internal and external resources.

  • Proven experience managing complex, high-profile projects and stakeholder interactions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while consulting with senior management for guidance.
  • Strong judgment, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with internal users, technical staff, and stakeholders.
