CORP – Business Analyst III

Job description

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand project charters and business objectives to gather, document and analyze business needs and translate to requirements for project execution.
  • Manages funding and tracking of upcoming and new project requests, as well as auditing, maintaining, and reporting on data on existing projects.
  • Creates management reporting and project cost reports for monthly reviews and scorecards.
  • Builds dynamic project portfolio dashboards and reports through collection of data from multiple source systems, project managers and cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Provides education and coaching on processes and resources for initiation of new projects.
  • Maintains an organized and accessible repository of portfolio project documentation.
  • Assists in developing presentations and strategies in support of the PMO and Portfolio team.
  • Leads the project quality-monitoring process to effectively apply the Client Project Management Methodology and enforce project standards.
  • Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine the business requirements that provide value to both internal and external customers.
  • Works collaboratively with management, employees, and project resources to execute on prioritized work and ensure deadlines are met with the expected level of quality.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with all project stakeholders, including IT and business stakeholders.
  • Provides level-of-effort regarding scope and complexity of business analysis deliverables and holds him/herself/themselves to the commitments made for business analysis deliverables.
  • Manages requirements gathering and application gap analysis.
  • Maps process in both current and future state to identify process improvements and the workflow for new or enhanced websites and applications.
  • Supports project teams through all aspects of project execution including discovery, requirements gathering, user story creation, execution of testing.
  • Facilitates User Acceptance Testing, including defect management.

Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment/Hybrid
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise
  • Minimal travel

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in analyzing and developing business processes and participating in business processes and system improvement efforts.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in agile product teams or project-based teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with utilizing project management methodologies including waterfall, scrum, and kanban.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with metrics and/or data reporting and creating dashboards.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with portfolio management tool.
  • Proven capability working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences in both written and oral form.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively; both independently and with teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to use good judgment to make recommendations and decisions.
  • Comfortably handles risk and uncertainty.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies including waterfall and agile.
  • Knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experienced user of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Visio.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.
  • May require sitting for extended periods of time.
