Job duties

  • Collect and analyze large sets of data from one or many data sources using statistical software and analysis;
  • Apply principles of data mining, data modeling and machine learning to analyze and transfer data from large datasets into databases;
  • Troubleshoot and ensure data loads successfully with latest single source system templates/databases;
  • Perform data gathering, data cleaning, and data validating to identify trends, problems, and propose solutions to business problems and to achieve business objectives;
  • Write automation scripts in Python/R to consolidate difference data sources into reference file, pre-processing and cleaning data in the process;
  • Create and maintain data tracker using adaptive queries and Python scripts to get real-time updates and status reports;
  • Develop and apply algorithms, and sampling techniques to gather and verify data from companies to report to government entities;
  • Data recording and analysis of errors found in single source system/database and create error resolution spreadsheets with list of errors encountered during data flow process and progress reports using mathematical theories and techniques;
  • Update integrated data source system and coordinate with business teams to resolve data migration issues and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Create data visualizations to convey findings and communicate analyses to stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

  • At a minimum, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related statistical analysis field, or the foreign degree equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • The position also requires 1 year’s experience in machine learning and data mining algorithms using SQL, Python, and R in automated processes and repeatable tasks;
  • 1 year’s experience with data cleaning, statistical modeling and analysis, and producing reports with data visualization;
  • 1 year’s experience detecting abnormalities in data sets and building models for prediction and outlier detection;
  • Knowledge in the following classification models: Logistic regression, K-nearest neighbors, Random Forest.
  • The position requires domestic travel within the United States only, but the exact locations, duration, and frequency of travel vary greatly depending on business needs and employee client project assignments, which are subject to frequent and sudden changes, and the employer has clients in various locations throughout all regions of the United States. Client assignments can last from weeks to years depending on the needs of the client.
