Data Center/Cloud Engineer

Job Summary:

Dexian is seeking a Data Center/Cloud Engineer for an opportunity with a client located in Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods
• Lead a team of data center and cloud engineers with a focus on security, performance, and agility
• Establish and coordinate development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, network engineers, security specialists)
• Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures
• Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements
• Participate in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts
• Lead incident response efforts, including root cause analysis and resolution
• Lead and participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents promptly
• Generate system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures
• Design and architect scalable and resilient data center and cloud solutions aligned with business goals
• Administer and optimize cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and O365 applications (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams)
• Implement robust security measures and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., CLETS, CJIS)
• Lead automation efforts using tools like Saltstack, Terraform, or PowerShell
• Deploy monitoring tools to enhance system performance, capacity planning, and availability
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for data center and cloud environments, ensuring high availability
• Ensure all data center and cloud maintenance processes are completed within specified timelines including patching and backups

Requirements:

• Experienced with frequent use and application of technical standards, principles and theories
• Works under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage ones time
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue
• Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software
• Knowledge of computer development software across multiple platforms
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required
• 2-4 years experience required, preferably with two of those years performing in a lead or expert capacity
