Job Title: Senior UX Interaction Designer
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid – 4 days onsite per week)
Team: Central UX Team, IFC IT (Enterprise IT Group)
Experience Level: Senior (8-10 years)
Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Interaction Designer to join the central User Experience (UX) team within IFC’s Enterprise IT group. As part of a small, agile UX function that supports multiple groups across the organization, you will play a critical role in shaping user experiences for internally built applications-especially custom AI-powered tools. This is a highly collaborative yet independently driven role with a strong focus on interaction design.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute hands-on interaction design efforts across a variety of projects, with an initial focus on AI-related internal applications.
  • Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and user flows using Figma to communicate design ideas effectively.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, developers, and other designers across three core organizational groups.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide UX guidance to teams across the enterprise.
  • Work independently on complex business requirements and deliver design solutions tailored to user needs and business goals.
  • Occasionally support or review work done by offshore contractors and other UX contributors.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of hands-on experience in UX/UI design, with a strong focus on interaction design.
  • Proven ability to work independently and handle complex enterprise workflows.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing interaction design work, including scenario-based prototypes and design systems.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid team model (onsite and offshore).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing for AI-driven applications or integrating AI elements into UX (e.g., OpenAI, custom LLM-based tools).
  • Visual design and/or UX research experience.
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT environments.

Team Structure & Culture
You will join a lean UX team consisting of 3-4 internal staff supported by offshore contractors. The UX function is centrally positioned to provide strategic and tactical design support across IFC’s IT ecosystem. The team values practical, hands-on design thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
Interview Process

  • One or two rounds (via Teams or in person) with the team, including the UX lead.
  • Role is open immediately, with urgency to hire the right candidate-but we won’t compromise on quality.
