Overview

A Jacksonville-based nonprofit organization is seeking a Director of Institutional Partnerships to lead strategic relationship development and external engagement with corporations, foundations, and civic stakeholders. This senior role is responsible for securing institutional support, building long-term partnerships, and aligning external resources with programmatic goals and organizational sustainability.
This position works cross-functionally with internal teams and serves as a key external representative, helping the organization grow its reach, visibility, and impact.


Core Responsibilities

Strategic Partner Development

  • Design and execute a partnership strategy that advances organizational priorities
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with corporate, philanthropic, and public-sector partners
  • Serve as the primary liaison for key institutional partners, ensuring alignment and fulfillment of shared objectives

Sponsorship & Revenue Advancement

  • Lead the creation of sponsorship and funding proposals, presentations, and activation plans
  • Oversee a pipeline of prospective partners and track revenue performance
  • Collaborate with program and leadership teams to develop co-branded initiatives

Stewardship & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Implement tailored stewardship strategies for key partners
  • Coordinate recognition opportunities, events, and activations that reinforce partner engagement
  • Represent the organization at regional and national events, meetings, and convenings

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing, development, and program staff to ensure consistency across messaging and deliverables
  • Support internal reporting and performance tracking related to partnership outcomes
  • Participate in strategic planning and cross-departmental initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in institutional partnerships, stakeholder engagement, or development
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-value relationships and secure multi-year support
  • Strong writing, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Blackbaud
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable leading both strategy and execution

  • Familiarity with the philanthropic and business landscape in Northeast Florida
  • Experience working within a nonprofit, foundation, or social impact organization

  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactically in a fast-paced environment
