Job Title: Power BI admin

Location: lake Mary, FL / Pittsburgh, PA (hybrid)

Duration: 12+ Months – Extension Possible

Job Summary:

  • Ensures that all systems, applications, software, and hardware are compliant with corporate policy/procedures. Identifies issues and contributes to developing solutions. Maintains and may lead the process for documenting design, build and standard operating procedures. Develops detailed project plans and tracks project progress.
  • Assists in ensuring that all systems, applications, software, and hardware are compliant with corporate policy/procedures.
  • Maintains documentation of design. build and procedures. Works with Application Development and Quality Assurance, Testing and Business teams to understand infrastructure needs during the planning, design, development and testing processes. Assists in implementing changes to the organization’s infrastructure technology that enhance its reliability, resiliency and efficiency.
  • Performs basic production support tasks. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Contributes to the achievement of related teams’ objectives. Bachelor’s degree in computer science. Experience in the securities or financial services
  • Power BI Service is crucial.
  • Should have report development experience.
  • DBA experience – How to speed up queries, consult others and find issues, correct writing, data connectivity. Database foundational knowledge. Oracle, Snowflake, SQL server.
  • Encounter networking issues, find the source of issues, identify networking issues, experience with virtual machines.
  • Apply patches, software updates and data connectivity.
  • Data management, ETL exp, architecture, data types.
  • Power Stack, on-prem vs cloud, cloud servicing experience, hosting on Azure.
  • MS Fabric exposure.
  • Running Power BI service.
  • Tableau experience – On-Prem software.
  • CI/CD experience, trying to make improvements to the operating aspects of the application. Azure working knowledge.
  • Soft skills include communications, speak to stakeholders, critical thinker, autonomy, be able to have a dialogue, document current state of issues and can communicate things through thorough writing.
  • Conversion to FTE is the goal.
  • Open to the amount of experience as a junior person who “gets it” could be the right fit.
  • PowerBI configuration, admin.
  • SQL querying.
  • Fabric is a plus.
  • DBA – exposure to DBA tests… not looking for a pure DBA but someone who can find gaps and provide recommendations.
  • Find possible issues with network (gateway servers, capacity to support the need, how to improve on config settings for results, etc.)
  • Communicate ways to improve based on past experiences.
  • Lake Mary preferred with Pittsburgh as a backup option.
  • Azure Cloud experience (tenants)… configuration in gateway servers and administrative things in Power BI.
