be proficient in ServiceNow and MS Office 365 and have some Desktop Technician capabilities. Majority of job is keeping an accurate inventory of laptops, desktops, peripherals, etc. Technical expertise is a nice to have, but being proficient in keeping accurate inventories is the key here.
DSS tech with Asset experience is good enough for the role, but the role does not required support for DSS user’s issue. It is going to be all about Asset management. I don’t think we need to worry about the Software part for now.
- Maintain accountability of assets in stockrooms.
- Maintain ITAM record accuracy (state and substates).
- Receive and update new inventory in ITAM.
- Supervise the decommissioning of retired assets.
- Conduct periodic security audits in conjunction with Physical Security.
- Maintain overall organization and cleanliness of the stockroom.
- Perform daily and long-term operational and strategic management of hardware and software.

- Managing Asset Lifecycle:
- Keeping Track of IT Assets Usage
- Monitoring Hardware and Software:
- Utilization for H/W and SW Licenses
- Number of IT assets and usage
- Expired Warranties ( EOL/EOS)
- Cost if ant Maintaining an IT Asset
- Licensed vs. unlicensed software.
- Strategize, monitor, and record hardware assets and/or software licenses to make sure they comply with vendor contracts in different software tools ( ITAM )
- Maintain a schedule and follow it to provide KPI/Metric information along with standardized and unscheduled reporting as per the management’s demand.
- Participate in various projects and offer support as and when required.
- Manage inventory of CIs and assets (including dependencies and attributes) while ensuring any modifications, withdrawals, and additions to the existing assets are recorded accurately by the teams.
- Manage the lifecycle of hardware and software models in the ITAM /CMDB, right from their introduction to the end of life.
- Supervise and manage activities concerning compliance audits.
- Ensure process efficiency, suggesting improvements to the process consistently.
- Participate in other IT asset management processes.
