PRIORITY 1: Return To Work Case Manager

  • Job Title : Registered Nurse (Return To Work Case Manager)

    Location: Clayton, NC

    Duration: 6+ months

    Position Summary:

    This role will work within the Occupational Health team to facilitate the return-to-work process for anyone who has been out of work for medical reasons. The RN serves as the site expert medical authority pertaining to medical decisions which must be made to allow employees to return to work. The role reports directly to the Clinical Nursing Supervisor and will consult with the national medical consultant physician but is expected to make decisions based upon a combination of written directives, legal requirements, precedent, CDC guidelines and previous experience.

    Duties:
    * Assist managers/workers with evaluation of RETURN-TO-WORK criteria and decisions.
    * Will field calls relating to COVID and return to work.
    * Provides employees based in the US access to medical and health services with the objective of providing for optimal safe, efficient, and productive operations and optimal employee relations.
    * Create medical records including return to work notes.
    * Contact physicians who are providing non-occupational and occupational medical care and rehabilitation for employees to facilitate the return to work process

    Skills:
    * Experience with electronic medical records systems and entry
    * Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Excel spreadsheets (simple entry)
    * Excellent written and oral communication skills and a customer service focus when dealing with employees, managers, outside physicians, etc. for calls related to COVID and other return to work questions.
    * Should include an overall understanding of occupational health and return to work case management

    Education & Experience:
    * Position requires graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in nursing program.
    * Must be licensed to practice nursing as an RN in the state of North Carolina.
    * Certification via the American Board of Occupational Health Nursing COHN-S OR COHN is preferred
    * A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in Occupational Health Nursing, medical assessment, emergency medical care, clinic work, and/or public health nursing (Occupational health experience is preferred) Note: The main function will be administrative (90% on the phone). The Return To Work Case Manager will do vision testing (0-5 a week) and may be requested to give Hepatitis B vaccinations and draw lab work if the clinic nurse is not onsite.

    Onsite Work schedule hours for this position (start and end times)? A: 8 am- 4:30pm (1/2-hour unpaid lunch)
