Job Title: Project Manager
Job Location: Tallahassee, FL (hybrid)
Job Duration: Contract through December 2026
Job Overview: Project Manager for Modernization Project scheduled to run from September 2024 – December 2026.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop Weekly Project Management Reports.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the Contract Manager.
  • Work in conjunction with System Implementation (SI) contractor staff.
  • Coordinate work efforts with staff across business units, to ensure obligations are met in regard to Project efforts.
  • Guide Project team members in the development and delivery of their work products.
  • Assist with team building to encourage staff participation in the Project and serve as a guide or resource to Project team members on their involvement in Project meetings, deliverable reviews or other activities.
  • Assist with resolution of Project team conflict or communication issues proactively.
  • Provide insight to management on identified issues, root causes and recommendation of solutions.
  • Lead the dissemination of Project deliverables to team members, and compile feedback for submission to Contract Manager.
  • Work daily with identified Project team leads to manage Project efforts and activities, and schedule/facilitate team meetings.
  • Attend Deliverable Acceptance Criteria (DAC) development meetings and assist with DAC development and review.
  • Review the SI deliverable documents in accordance with the approved DAC and Project Schedule and provide written feedback or recommendations to on their modification, approval or rejection. Deliverable documents will be limited to those defined in contract with the SI contractor.
  • Combine Project team member review comments/responses into one document for submission to the Contract Manager.
  • Manage Project documentation and ensure that the Project Library/file contains a copy of all deliverables and associated supporting documentation.
  • Monitor SI deliverable progress and ensure deliverables are timely reviewed by the Project team members.
  • Coordinate and schedule ad hoc meetings as directed by the Contract Manager.
  • Assist with managing stakeholders through development and coordination of a communication plan.
  • Assist with the finalization of legislative quarterly Project Status Reports.
  • Attend ad-hoc Project meetings, as requested by the Contract Manager.
  • Attend monthly Steering Committee meetings and assist the Contract Manager with the planning and facilitation of those meetings.
  • Attend weekly IV&V meetings with the IV&V contractor, Contract Manager, and Project team members.
  • Attend weekly Project Status Meetings with the contractor staff, Contract Manager, Project team members, and IV&V contractor.
  • Develop a Monthly Project Management Summary. At a minimum, the summary will recap:
    • key accomplishments for the prior month.
    • upcoming key activities/work to be performed the next month.
    • Updated SI contractor deliverable tracking log.
    • open or closed items/issues/risks.
  • Complete monthly Time Reports

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Active PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Seven (7) or more years of project management experience with accountability for managing complex project tasks and schedules and reviewing or developing major project documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical and nontechnical staff.
  • Knowledge and experience in effective team building, collaboration and communication among multiple parties and organizations.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with a Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Experience managing Information Technology projects.
  • Experience managing projects for a Florida state government agency.
  • Knowledge of financial services regulatory business processes and technology software that supports the financial services industry.
