Sr. Business Analyst (WMS)

Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:
This Business Analyst position is Ross Supply Chain Portfolio especially focusing on DC Automation initiatives. The Business Analyst serves as a key interface between the business groups teams and IT. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise around technical project delivery best practices to deliver projects in an efficient, timely manner without impacting system stability.
Brings proven track record and ability to balance desired solution end-state within support constraints and with a pragmatic lens. In addition, the position is responsible for gathering user requirements, creating functional requirements, assisting in the development process, ensuring the system meets the functional and user interface specifications, and guiding the business through use of the application.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Systems Support –
    • Understand business processes within Supply chain and DC Automation and how systems enable the business processes.
    • Partner with IT cross functional leads to understand business needs to ensure their requirements are met.
    • When issues and/or outages occur, perform troubleshooting, provide support, and send communications to help resolve issues.
  • Project Management –
    • Gather and document project risks and provide recommendations to project leadership or management on longer-term solutions.
    • Gather and document project status updates from responsible parties and present to project leadership or management
    • Collect and consolidate data from responsible parties to be used for reporting and dashboard creation
  • Information Management –
    • Create and analyze process flow documents of diverse scope by networking with users
  • Relationship Management –
    • Develop partnership acting as a liaison between security, technical and business teams to understand, troubleshoot, interpret and advise on technical questions or business use cases
    • Document functional and other requirements based on customer or business partner feedback on moderately complex projects.
  • Development Lifecycle –
    • Manage meetings, issue resolution, escalation, etc. for the project team during the design and build phases of moderately complex projects.
    • Develop the understanding of strengths/limitations various tools and technologies available.
    • Allocate documentation activities to members of the team and self of all test-related deliverables including test approach, test scenarios, test cases/conditions, test scripts, and test results
    • Drive test execution throughout all phases of testing (i.e. unit, end-to-end, integration, performance, operational readiness, user acceptance.) for small to moderately complex projects.
    • Suggest alternate methods of data gathering and/or data presentation.
  • Technical Operations –
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define the release and deployment plans.
    • Lead post deployment validation as instructed by project leadership or management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
List Education level, Years of Experience, Technical Knowledge, and/or Certifications required for the position.

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Business, Economics, Finance or Computer Science, or an equivalent diploma
  • 7-10 years’ experience in the IT field or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to understand and apply instructions or suggest alternate proven methods to move projects forward
  • Ability to follow established practices, policies and procedures
  • Ability to build stable working relationships
  • Strong communication skills
  • Very strong understanding of productivity suite software (i.e. MS Office)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to create simple to complex analytical solutions
  • Ability to take an abstract analytical problem and break it down into actionable tasks
