Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to join our dynamic Agile team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for guiding and coaching multiple Scrum teams, ensuring the effective implementation of Agile methodologies, and facilitating the delivery of high-quality products. Your deep understanding of Scrum principles will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement and fostering a collaborative environment. You will work closely with Product Owners, Development Teams, and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects while promoting the core values of Agile.
Key Responsibilities:
Agile Coaching & Facilitation:
- Serve as a servant leader, supporting teams in adopting and adhering to Scrum practices and Agile principles.
- Coach and mentor teams and individuals in Agile methodologies to help them achieve high performance and self-organization.
- Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
- Foster a collaborative culture among cross-functional teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment on project goals.
- Identify and remove any obstacles or impediments hindering the team’s progress, ensuring continuous flow of work.
Team Performance & Improvement:
- Work with team members to identify and address areas for continuous improvement in their processes, tools, and collaboration.
- Encourage the team to take ownership of their delivery process and foster a culture of self-organization and accountability.
- Lead and facilitate retrospectives to gather insights and implement improvements for each sprint cycle.
- Help the team prioritize and manage their workload effectively, ensuring that work is completed on time and aligned with business priorities.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the development team and external stakeholders, including Product Owners, managers, and other departments.
- Ensure clear and transparent communication of team progress, risks, and dependencies to key stakeholders.
- Assist in defining and managing the product backlog, ensuring it is clear, organized, and prioritized in alignment with business goals.
- Support Product Owners in backlog grooming, helping them break down large features into manageable user stories.
Scrum Process Optimization:
- Continuously assess the maturity of the teams in terms of Agile and Scrum practices and guide them in enhancing their processes.
- Help teams embrace change and evolve their Agile practices to meet the demands of complex projects.
- Monitor team progress using metrics such as burndown charts, velocity, and sprint goals to ensure the team is on track.
Agile Transformation Leadership:
- Lead and support the organization’s Agile transformation efforts, driving a shift towards Agile practices across multiple teams or departments.
- Act as a thought leader on Scrum principles and the broader Agile methodology, promoting best practices and contributing to the organization’s Agile maturity.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II) from Scrum.org (mandatory).
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with experience guiding cross-functional teams.
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, Kanban, and other Lean practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration between developers, designers, and product managers.
- Proven ability to remove impediments and help teams manage risks and deliver consistently.
- Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, VersionOne).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to engage stakeholders at various levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple Scrum teams or facilitate Agile transformation at scale.
Preferred Skills:
- Additional certifications such as Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), PSM III, or SAFe Agilist are a plus.
- Experience with DevOps practices and integration of Agile with continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and modern software development practices.
