Support Technician – Hardware/Mobile

Dexian has an immediate opportunity available for a Hardware/Mobile Support Technician. The successful candidate will have strong business acumen and ability to work with all aspects of IT Hardware asset management.

The Support Technician will be responsible for conducting the entire IT Asset Management (ITAM) lifecycle, which may include customer requests (work intake), management of database records, and end-of-life retirement/disposal process of equipment.
Duties include the update of all databases plus all reporting, audit, and governance requirements. Equipment includes, but not limited to desktop computers, laptop computers, servers, workstations, routers, firewalls, switches, backup storage devices, etc.

  • Each client-owned accountable personal property item shall be identified with barcode property tags and recorded in ServiceNow & Sunflower (SAMS). NOTE: SAMS functions will be coordinated with other business unit staff and will not be responsibility for this role.
  • In addition, the role performs periodic physical inventories of all client’s accountable personal property and provides ad hoc inventories upon request.
  • Will provide detailed lists of property marked as excess as a reused candidate for cost savings from procuring new equipment.
  • Review procurement documentation to ensure accountable personal property is received and accountability is established.
  • Will be responsible for updating the existing data, providing guidance on future policy, and drafting of governance documents to update policy and procedure.
  • The asset specialist will collaborate with team leads on ideas to improve system design/workflows and other process improvements to ensure compliance with policy and operational efficiencies.
  • When required, record and report to the client’s Property Manager and client Property Custodian all incidents involving loss, theft, damage to or destruction of client property.
  • Maintain a current list of Users (client personnel) and client Locations (Buildings, Rooms, Cubicles) in ServiceNow monthly. The contractor shall also maintain a current listing of client organization codes to ensure the client’s Steward Code Structure in ServiceNow is accurate.
  • Maintain a functional awareness and insight of public laws, federal regulations and client policies involving the management of government personal property.
  • As requested by the client, will provide annual Property Awareness Training utilizing PowerPoint slide presentations for conference room or e-mail briefing to educate client personnel on safeguarding client’s property. Training locations will be determined by the client Property Manager.

JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

  • 6+ years’ experience managing the lifecycle of IT hardware assets. Experience in classified environments, preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience properly maintaining and updating database records, specifically for IT assets (ServiceNow & Sunflower)
  • Excellent documentation skills for the authoring of policies and procedures for the best practices to manage IT hardware assets efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Experience with cost saving opportunities that increase the bottom line during the lifecycle of hardware assets
  • Experience in process and delivery associated with IT asset management and procurement
  • Expert-level knowledge of all MS Office Suite applications (Work, Excel, MS Project, etc.)

This position requires an active Department of Defense Security clearance at the SECRET level or ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at time of hire.
U.S. citizens only are eligible for security clearance and this position.

COMPENATION:
Dexian reasonably expects to offer $32.00/hour to $34.00/hour for this position plus benefits to include health, vision, dental, matching 401k, etc.

EDUCATION:

  • High school education or higher
  • One or more of the following certifications preferred: ITILv3, CITAM, CHAMP, CPPM

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Submit/Pass a 10-year background check, criminal history, drug screening, and fingerprints
  • Valid driver’s license/Real-ID with clean driver’s history
  • Self-starter with extremely strong work ethic. Excellent time-management and multitasking skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy required
  • Demonstrated problem solving and people skills
  • Ability to research, resolve and complete tasks within pre-determined deadlines and schedules
  • Able to process work quickly and accurately – dealing with interruptions, changing timelines and priorities on a regular basis
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate details in a professional manner
  • Must embrace technology to promote efficient operations
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word programs
  • Working knowledge of app/database ticketing systems. Knowledge with ServiceNow, a plus
