Job Title: Systems Administrator
Job Location: Tallahassee, FL (on-site)
Job Duration: Contract through June + extension
Job Overview:

  • Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft Azure resources.
  • Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention and recommend changes or upgrades as needed to ensure optimization.
  • Perform Microsoft Entra identification management activities.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation.
  • Work with data center staff, OIT, and users to perform Azure resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes.
  • Assist Azure application owners/administrators and users with appropriate application access.
  • Train infrastructure team members on Azure and Azure best practices as required.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows and Linux server issues with minimal impact on users.
  • Write PowerShell scripts to be used to monitor server properties and perform Active Directory and Azure management activities.
  • Administer and configure Azure infrastructure security as needed for OIT staff and users.
  • Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements.
  • Provide recommendations for possible process improvements within the Department’s infrastructure team.
  • Create schedules for the development and implementation of specific software systems. and
  • Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks as required by the Department.

Required Experience:

  • Five (5) or more years of Windows server experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of Microsoft Azure or Cloud experience.
  • Expertise with branching strategy, CI/CD pipeline implementation with Azure pipelines, and version control across environments with Azure repositories.
  • Three (3) or more years of Linux server experience.
  • Server administration experience with three (3) or more years administering Windows 2016 and newer.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience with Active Directory and Domain Name System (DNS) administration in an enterprise environment with 1,000 or more users
  • Experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts.
  • Experience working in a virtual server or Cloud environment. and
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third party applications.

Preferred Experience:

  • Certification in Agile or Scrum-based Project Management.
  • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management Foundations Certified.
  • Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base.
  • Experience developing and managing schedules for multiple projects.
  • Experience managing waterfall projects.
  • Experience with state government projects.
  • Experience managing and reporting projects in compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.
  • Experience working with technical programming teams.
  • Ability to demonstrate a professional can-do attitude with the initiative to solve complex problems.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Skills in facilitation and team building.
  • Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment.
  • Knowledge in other IT areas such as programming and data analytics etc.
  • A team player attitude with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic. and
  • Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and organize and prioritize activities.
