• Candidates need to be able to obtain a public trust clearance
• 6 month contract-to-hire. Remote
• AWS, Kubernetes, general AWS ability to automate
• * Ability to apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.
  * Requires practical experience and training in AWS, EKS, and Site Reliability Engineering
  * Strong programming knowledge – YAML, Python
  * Advanced knowledge of systems design tools – AWS Console, GitLab, Terraform, Ansible

Summary:
Using systems architecture experience for initial or redesign of systems, defining product requirements and creating high level architectural specifications. Will ensure feasibility, functionality and integration with existing systems or softwares.

Job Responsibilities:
* Applies technical knowledge to assist clients in the design and development of solutions to complex technical engineering and applications problems, network challenges, or system administration issues. * Establishes the basic structure of the system, defines essential core design features and elements that provide the framework.
* Incorporates engineering strategies for introducing new technology into the customer’s infrastructure related to its business processes of collection, analysis, production, and dissemination.
* Performs cost-benefit analyses to determine whether requirements are best met by manual, software, or hardware functions; making maximum use of commercial off-the-shelf or already developed components.
* Applies knowledge of enterprise IT or engineering needs to design improved processes, generate valid requirements, and ensures that these are consistent with the customer’s enterprise technical architecture. * May participate in business development activities.
* Responsible for initial design and development of new systems or extensive systems revisions to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements
* Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for agency IT architectures, and profiles of standards as they apply to the implementation and specific to the solution for the platform, integration with other systems
* Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of work flows, organisation and planning and develops appropriate corrective action
* Provides daily supervision, design guidance and direction to staff

Skills:
* Ability to apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments
* Requires practical experience and training in software engineering environment
* Strong programming knowledge
* Advanced knowledge of systems design tools

Education/Experience:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or a similar technical field
* 8-10 years experience
