Job Title: Embedded Linux DevOps Senior Manager

Overview:
Carrier is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Embedded Linux DevOps Senior Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux embedded systems, with expertise in Go/Golang, Yocto, and Ubuntu Core, coupled with solid computer networking fundamentals. This role is crucial in driving our main initiatives, including reducing duplicative work across the company, connecting software to the cloud, and integrating with our diverse product lines such as chillers, rooftop units, shipping containers, and refrigerators.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of 3-4 engineers located in India and Europe, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of embedded Linux systems, ensuring seamless integration with cloud services.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in DevOps, focusing on automation, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
• Collaborate closely with the lead Product Manager, Scrum Master, TPM, and other stakeholders to align technical efforts with business objectives.
• Address and resolve critical issues, including those escalated by senior team members, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging the exploration of new technologies and methodologies.
• Ensure all projects meet quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget.

Main Initiatives:

• Reduce Duplicative Work Across the Company: Implement strategies to streamline processes and eliminate redundant efforts, enhancing overall efficiency.
• Connecting Software to the Cloud: Lead the integration of embedded software with cloud platforms, enabling advanced data analytics and remote management capabilities.
• Product Lines Integration: Work on projects related to various Carrier product lines, including chillers, rooftop units, shipping containers, and refrigerators.
• “Abound HVAC Service”: Contribute to the development and deployment of Carrier’s “Abound HVAC Service” platform.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in embedded Linux development, with a strong focus on Go/Golang, Yocto, and Ubuntu Core.
• Solid understanding of computer networking fundamentals.
• Proven track record of managing and leading distributed engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with cloud platforms and services is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a remote work environment, with occasional travel as needed.
