Position Summary:
The Lab Support Technician will collaborate with the Laboratory Operations team and Scientists to implement and uphold lab efficiencies. Working together, they will support various laboratory functions aimed at advancing programs in the PM portfolio. This role presents an excellent chance to venture into the realm of laboratory operations.

Requirements:

  • Conveys information effectively to laboratory personnel to optimize departmental operations and achieve its objectives.
  • Displays outstanding time management and organizational abilities.
  • Possesses expertise in laboratory instrumentation, such as pipettes, balances, centrifuges, and HPLC systems.
  • Shows proficiency in troubleshooting and implementing corrective measures for laboratory technical issues.
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) is advantageous.

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Associates degree in biotechnology, chemistry, or biology with 3+ years of related experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, chemistry, or biology with 1-2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to company policies and procedures, including those for laboratory operations and EHS.
  • Prepares laboratory workstations by stocking essential supplies and maintaining consumables.
  • Aids Scientists in experiment preparation, such as media, buffer, chemical solution, and assay preparation, as well as equipment setup.
  • Supports various laboratory functions, including supply stockroom management, dry ice, gas, biohazardous and chemical waste management, and glass washing, as part of the Laboratory Operations team.
  • Receives and verifies sample and material identifications, ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures.
  • Registers samples in the laboratory’s sample management platform and processes sample requests according to protocol.
  • Collaborates with Scientists in sample processing, including peptides, proteins, small molecules, plasmids, DNA/RNA, cell lines, tissues, and serum.
  • Supports Laboratory Operations by managing laboratory assets and contributing to the development of operating procedures.
  • Fosters positive, professional relationships with colleagues and managers to facilitate departmental efficiency.
  • Communicates effectively, ensuring accurate and consistent information flow and follow-through.
  • Will serve as a liaison between the Laboratory Operations team
