Business Analyst – Enterprise Reporting
Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-facing Business Analyst to support our regulatory reporting efforts, with a focus on ASIC and EMIR reporting for cleared credit default swaps and interest rate swaps. This individual will act as the primary liaison between our internal report development team and business stakeholders or clients, ensuring the accurate capture, development, and delivery of critical reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to gather, define, and document project requirements in JIRA or equivalent tools. - Report Specification:
Write clear, comprehensive report specifications for use by the technical development team. - Testing and Quality Assurance:
Create and execute test plans, design test scenarios, and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate data accuracy and completeness prior to implementation. - Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact between business units and technical teams, translating updates into clear, client-friendly language. Provide regular project status updates to all stakeholders. - Client Interaction:
Participate in client discussions related to reporting needs. A professional and polished communication style-both verbal and written-is essential. - Project Coordination:
Track project progress across multiple phases, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables align with business objectives. - Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for workflow enhancements and process streamlining to increase efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating report data
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
Business Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language
- Proven experience managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Soft Skills:
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Preferred Background:
- Experience with regulatory reporting, specifically EMIR and/or ASIC requirements
- Exposure to cleared derivatives (CDS, IRS) is a plus
