Job Title: Field Service Power Generation Technician Level II
Duration: Full Time
Location: Memphis TN 38116
Pay Rate: $26.53 – $39.80 hourly with benefits
JOB SUMMARY
Description:
Hours: M-F | 7AM to 4PM
No weekends but there is an on-call rotation once a month for about a week. There is an opportunity for overtime.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Completing preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on generators or components at the customer site with minimal direction.
- Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Applying the use of specialized tools and following documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
- Completing required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Completing training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
- Qualifications and Competencies
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
- High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
- Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience with direct diesel engine.
- ONLY INDUSTRIAL experience. Small residential experience with generators is not the same. These generators are massive. 4kw-2000 (some 2500 now too)
- New Unit Installs and Commissioning Switch Gear and Paralleling (Great to Have)
- Not only experience working on the ENGINE but the ELECTRICAL side of it as well.
- Training Process Depends on experience: Fasttrack if available; initial safety training 70-E, load banking
