Laboratory Technician

Title: Quality Control Laboratory Technician

Months- 6 + Months (potential extension)

Location- Fort Meade, FL

Work Schedule: 12 hour; Straight night shift on a 3-2-2-3 schedule (work 3 days, off 2 days, work 2 days, off 3 days)
Schedule Specifics: 6 months with possible extension

Description of Assignment:
position is for a night shift analytical lab technician in the mining quality control lab. technician will prepare, analyze, and report results for the facility to be able to view data results. will also perform housekeeping duties and sample disposal.

What will a person need for this role?

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A person with a passion for chemistry, science and testing.
• Associates Degree in Chemistry or Science would be a huge plus.
• 1-2 years’ of Entry Level Laboratory work experience is highly preferred.
• 1-2 years’ experience in MS Office Suite and Communications skills in needed
• Valid Driver’s license is required.
• Physical work environment is typically indoors and in a consistent temperature.
• There are occasions the worker may go to other areas onsite which would require short exposure to elements outdoors and varying degrees of hot and cold environments.

• Able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
• Able to distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns or materials

• Able to use fine hand motor skills
• Able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required
