Platform Engineering Manager

Job Summary:
Dexian is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager for an opportunity with a client located in Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and enhance the infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security
- Conduct thorough reviews of application code to ensure quality and adherence to best practices
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to the development process
- Guide and coach developers in diagnosing and fixing bugs efficiently
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of MS SQL and MySQL databases to optimize performance and solve database-related issues
- Address performance bottlenecks in applications and infrastructure, implementing solutions to enhance overall performance
- Work on tuning applications to scale from 100 users to 1000 users and beyond, ensuring robust performance
- Utilize tools like Dynatrace and Splunk for performance monitoring and analysis
- Manage and scale enterprise shared services to a global level using AWS infrastructure
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to the development team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in a technical role, with a focus on Java applications and infrastructure
- Extensive experience with Java applications and codebase, particularly for performance tuning
- Proficient in database management and optimization techniques for MS SQL and MySQL
- Strong understanding of infrastructure management and performance tuning
- Experience with scaling applications from 100 to 1000 users
- Familiarity with tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk

- Experience in guiding and coaching developers
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on fostering a collaborative team environment

- Communication
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud services
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
- Prior experience in a managerial or leadership role
