Job Summary:

Dexian is seeking a Data Architect for an opportunity with a client located in McLean, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Gather requirements from stakeholders on upstream-related master data products and identify required data pipelines and reference data products
• Create recommendations on build/buy for reference data products
• Develop database solutions with respect to ingestion/curation/analysis architecture
• Use stakeholder requirements to generate conceptual data models
• Use ER/Studio software to create conceptual and logical data models
• Manage timelines for the data management team
• Provide Python support for data pipeline creation
• Use existing Machine Learning (ML) tools to resolve similar data values (using either cosine similarity, Levenshtein similarity, or other distance-based techniques)
• Conduct Architectural reviews
• Define data quarantine and reconciliation procedures for mismatched data
• Work on an agile-based project and co-ordinate deliverables with the data engineers and data modelers
• Define data transformation requirements
• Create and review Python data pipelines
• Provide oversight for data pipeline testing and resiliency
• Ensure customer quality processes and standards are followed and provide recommendations for additional best practices

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or the foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field and eight (8) years of experience in a software development occupation
• 7 years of experience with data architecture and data engineering
• 7 years of experience utilizing multiple data sources, including SQL, APIs and spreadsheets
• 5 years of experience with development of JSON, REST API’s
• 5 years of experience with SQL server, Snowflake, ER/Studio or other modern data warehouses/planning tools
• 5 years of experience with Python
• 7 years of experience utilizing Agile methodologies or iterative development processes

Any and all experience may be gained concurrently. Part-time telecommuting is permitted. Travel and work in various unanticipated work locations in the US, to be determined by employer.
